Herbie has been coaching & teaching in Cairns for 22 years, 14 of that working side by side with Grant “Scooter” Patterson.

Herbie works part time as Swimming Queensland Para Swimming Development Officer and travels to remote communities, for Swimming Queensland, conducting Swim Clinics, Teacher Training and Workshops.

Herbie has helped Scooter make ten Australia Swim Teams since 2008, where Scoot has won Multiple Paralympic, Para World Championship and Para Pan Pacific Medals.

Now another of Herbie’s Para squad, Joel Mundie, has made his first team to represent Australia at the Birmingham Commonwealth Games.

“The Journey has been challenging, different, very funny but above all rewarding. AND still more to come.”
